Here at WorkSmart Systems, whenever our team isn’t providing HR solutions to small-to-medium sized businesses, we enjoy donating our time and resources to help external organizations. Last week our devoted client, the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI), held its annual Kid’s Count Golf Classic at the Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel. WorkSmart served as a corporate sponsor for this event offering our resources to  help meet IYI’s fundraising goals.

IYI is a statewide 501 © (3) nonprofit that provides capacity-building programs and resources for Indiana’s youth workers and nonprofit youth-serving organizations, including schools. As outspoken advocates for healthy youth development in Indiana, they provide free programs for youth organizations to nurture a better community. Reliant on individual, foundation and corporate donors, all donations support the work to keep these resources available. .

As IYI’s only major fundraising event, the Golf Classic gives golf enthusiasts the rare occasion to play on Indiana’s premier championship golf course. Played by other infamous golfing professionals, it’s the site of some past prestigious championships, including the 1991 PGA Championship, the 2009 U.S. Senior Open and most recently the 2012 BMW Championship . All proceeds benefit the Indiana Mentoring Partnership, which fosters academic success and positive youth development.

This year, IYI raised close to $40,000 for the mentoring partnership and potential mentor recruitment. As this yearly event continues to cultivate, the Golf Classic will serve as a prominent contributor to help move children down a straight path to success.

WorkSmart Systems was the Title Sponsor for this event offering a sizeable charitable donation as well as give-away bags to each of the golfers. Our own Matt Thomas has served a vital role in this event as he  sits on the task force of volunteers. With his invaluable advice and wisdom on how to run a golf event, Matt’s donated time and resources contributes to the success of the Golf Classic.

Here is what Bill Stanczykiewicz, the president and CEO of IYI, said about our recent contributions:

“I give my very highest recommendation to colleagues in nonprofit sector to align with WorkSmart for services. Nonprofit organizations and the donors that fund them like to see the maximum amount of funding reach the people and the cause the organization is designed to serve. Nonprofit organizations don’t want to spend the time and money on in-house, back office tasks such as HR and healthcare. Outsourcing to a PEO firm is the perfect solution. It’s significantly lower cost than hiring a person to do it for you, plus they bring expertise and knowledge. These services are essential for a nonprofit.”

As a corporate sponsor of the Golf Classic, we couldn’t be more ecstatic about the overall results from this event. Our WorkSmart team looks forward to our future relationship with IYI and further offerings we can make to advance IYI’s success.
