Matt Thomas

President

Matt Thomas is the President of Indianapolis based WorkSmart Systems, Inc. He has been passionately involved in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industry for sixteen years. He has had the valuable opportunity to gain sales and operations experience with industry leaders such as ADP. Matt's depth of experience has culminated in a unique vision for the future of the PEO industry and WorkSmart Systems.

Matt remains active with the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). He is committed to the continuing growth and development of the strong client base that has made WorkSmart Systems successful. A strong belief in superior client service and careful client selection has been the foundation of Matt's business philosophy. Tom Gunderson, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Thomas V. Gunderson, CPA worked closely with WorkSmart Systems for 8 years as an outside advisor before joining the company as CFO in 2006. Tom has 20 years of professional experience working with small closely held businesses which allows him to provide expert counseling in the financial and operational areas of the company. Prior to joining WorkSmart Systems, Tom founded McKee & Gunderson, P.C., a local CPA firm. Tom also gained valuable insight and experience in the larger firms of Blue & Co., LLC and BDO Seidman. Tom is a graduate of Northern Iowa University and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana Certified Public Accountants Society.

Jason Carney, SPHR

Human Resource Director

Jason has extensive knowledge in all aspects of HR, through his more than 10 years of experience in industries such as finance, staffing, and technology. Jason holds a B.S. in Business Management/Human Resource Management from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). When not leading the WorkSmart Systems HR initiatives, Jason enjoys a variety of activities including golf, fishing, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Andrea Meyer, PHR, CBP

Benefit Manager

Andrea joined WorkSmart Systems in 2001, and has played a key role in the development of all services related to the WorkSmart employee benefit plans. Andrea is a graduate of St. Joseph's College, and is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), as well as, a Certified Benefit Professional (CBP).

Nanci Smith, CPP

Payroll Manager

Nanci has over 13 years of experience in the payroll accounting field. Nanci joined WorkSmart Systems in 2004 and brought a passion for payroll and client service to the payroll department. Nanci is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) who enjoys spending time with her two daughters and rooting for the Colts.
