Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
A Healthcare Flexible Spending Account is used to pay for almost any legitimate expense (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy) that is not covered by a group plan.
Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account
A Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account is used to pay for costs associated with dependent care for a child under the age of 13, or other adult dependent who is incapable of self care.
These flexible spending accounts allow an employee to pay for the above mentioned costs with pre-tax dollars. This reduces the taxable income of the employee and the payroll tax burden of the employer.
